Using the Heat Maps
See the Heating/Cooling Capacity Available in a Wastewater Pipe
You can easily see how much heating or cooling is available in any pipe, simply by zooming in reasonably close and moving the mouse over the pipe until the pointer changes from an 'open hand' to a 'pointing hand'. Position the middle of the hand over the pipe and click.
This will open a pop-up window which will show two lines of text. The top line is the infrastructure reference for that pipe in the network. The bottom line is the amount of heating and/or cooling available in that pipe in the network.
Very easy!
Switching between different Base Maps
The wastewater heat maps have four different base maps available for you to choose from. These base maps can be changed at any time by simply clicking on one of the four tiles shown in the bottom left corner of the map window.
The four base maps are:
1. Aerial Photo Basemap
2. Grey & White Basemap
3. Night view basemap
4. Full Colour basemap.
Aerial Photo Basemap - this shows things only in 2D.
Grey scale basemap - this shows the base map in grey colours only and buildings are shown in 3D.
Night view basemap - this shows the base map in dark grey and buildings are shown in 3D.
Full colour basemap - - this shows the base map in vivid colours with additional information about businesses, buildings are shown in 3D.
Zooming In/out
On Laptop/PC
Box Zoom: To zoom in to a defined area, hold 'Shift' key while clicking and dragging cursor to draw a box around the area you want to zoom in to.
Mouse Wheel Zoom: Rotate your mouse wheel to zoom In/Out.
Double Click Zoom: Zoom the map at a point by double clicking or double tapping.
+/- Keys Zoom: Simply tap the + or - keys to zoom in or out.
On Mobile
Gradually zoom in/out and Rotate: Pinch with two fingers to adjust the zoom level and rotate the map. Move fingers apart to zoom in, move fingers closer together to zoom out.
Move fingers in a circular motion to rotate the map (adjust the bearing).
Zoom in one zoom level: Double tap on the screen with one finger to zoom in towards the tapped location.
Zoom out one zoom level: Single tap on the screen with two fingers to zoom out away from the midpoint of the tapped locations.
Quick zoom: Double tap and drag up on the screen to zoom out or double tap and drag down to zoom in.
Panning/Rotating/Tilting
On Laptop/PC
Pan Around: Pan the map by clicking and dragging the cursor.
Rotate and Tilt Map: Rotate and Tilt the map by clicking and dragging the cursor while holding the left + right mouse buttons or left mouse button + 'ctrl' key.
On Mobile
Pan Around: Hold one finger down on the screen and move it in any direction.
Tilt Map: Hold two fingers down on the screen and move them vertically across the screen.
